The Service:

This high intensity position involves maintaining, inspecting and cleaning over 25 cabins/facilities as they check in and check out. Wekiwa Springs State Park holds a spacious youth camp that is booked with our administration staff by various clients such as schools, non-profit organizations, local agencies, and more.

Your primary responsibility is to receive client information from our administration team and ensure that clients who book parts of, or the entire, youth camp understand the location, and the cleaning supplies available to them. You will also be engaging in general restocking as needed and finally the client checks in and checks out. Checking in will involve walking the facilities they have booked and showing clients the status the locations are presented to them, and ensuring they understand the expectation is to return it to us in the same condition. The checkout process is to walk through the facilities with the client before they depart to get back any keys and being on the same page as to the condition it is returned.

Excellent customer service is required, and a high level of professionalism is always needed. Post checkout if the facilities require cleaning or repairs you are responsible for documenting all damage and cleaning needs, this will include photographs and logging how long it took you to clean up the facilities for our administration team to determine if cleaning fees will be applicable. During a client's time with us you will restock supplies during their stay. When there are no clients or there is down time, you will be working on general maintenance in the youth camp area, this can involve mowing, replacing broken boards, pressure washing, and communicating with our maintenance staff on larger scale needs.

The Site:

The site is located close to the youth camp but out of view to clients. It can accommodate up to 45 feet and includes water, sewer and electric. You will be directly adjacent to another Youth Camp Host that you will share the same responsibilities with to ensure everyone has an equitable amount of time off. This site has little shade but will have access to a washer and dryer, picnic tables and showers in the shop area. Verizon has consistently good service throughout the park!

The Benefits:

You will be provided with a Volunteer T-shirt and a nametag. Upon completing 250 hours, you will receive a special annual volunteer pass for you and your family to almost all Florida State Parks (three parks excluded). You will also have the opportunity for personal enrichment and experience working in a unique state park setting, we offer kayak and snorkeling training which are hosted throughout the year!

Join us in park staff gatherings especially volunteer appreciation meals. Be a part of the Florida Park Service family, working alongside like-minded staff and volunteers.
