Individual opportunities for locals are divided into five categories Administration, Maintenance, Resource Management, Visitor Services and Protection (no RV or campsite provided).

Administration

Make a difference to park operations. Administration refers to assisting with clerical work, filing, answering the telephone, purchasing, grant writing or grant tracking, data entry for the volunteer management, training or interpretive services programs, other data entry and more.

Maintenance

Make a difference using your skills and experience assisting park maintenance! Assist with facility repairs, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, painting, restroom upkeep, construction projects, vehicle maintenance, small engine work, electrical work and more.

Protection

Make a difference protecting the park and its visitors. Assist with emergency preparedness, emergency response, voluntary compliance, environmental protection, and safety checks for facilities, watercraft and vehicles.

Resource Management

Make a difference preserving and restoring Florida's natural and cultural features. Resource management refers to invasive plant and animal species identification and control, native plant and animal identification, ecological or cultural restoration, seed collection, prescribed fire, wildlife species monitoring, historical collections management and more.

Visitor Services

Make a difference by providing excellent customer service to park visitors from all over the world. Be a docent, greeter, tour guide or tram driver. Provide visitors information and access, participate in historical re-enactments, lead educational programs, assist in ranger stations, gift shops or visitor centers.
