Maintenance

Perfect for a local individual willing and able to help the park remain clean and beautiful, ready for park visitors. A park maintenance opportunity to assist portlet cleaning, trash collection, and clearing park pathways of debris. Come join the Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park team! Delnor-Wiggins is a 166-acre park on the north end of a barrier island in Naples. With the Gulf of Mexico to the west, this park consists of 1.2 miles of shoreline. The park contains an estuarine and marine tidal swamp to the east covering about eighty percent of the park. Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park offers visitors recreational opportunities to boat, paddle, fish, shoreline walks, picnics, scuba diving, snorkel, swim, and view wildlife. Assist park staff in maintaining the cleanliness of park grounds and facilities for visitor experience.


REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Possess a positive, helpful, and friendly attitude.
  • Ability to take directions and execute them well.
  • Ability to speak and interact with visitors in a friendly manner.
  • Must have the ability to withstand exposure to the outdoor elements and walk in the sand if necessary.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to interact with chemicals and cleaning supplies.


SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS

  • Early field shifts are from 7:00am to 10:00am.
  • Assistance needed on Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
  • Volunteer Hours entered into the Volunteer Portal by the end of each week.

  • Uniform required: Volunteer Shirt (provided) and Name Tag (provided)
  • Represent the Florida Park Service in a professional manner.
  • Follow the park's policies and guidelines.
  • Be reliable in fulfilling assignments.
  • Work as a team with fellow volunteers and staff.
  • Work safely and smartly, paying close attention to avoid mishaps.
  • Provide adequate notice of absence to the Volunteer Coordinator.
  • Record hours on Volunteer Portal each week.
